Established in 2006, Eclipse has become a full service Thoroughbred farm.   Located on the iconic “River’s Edge” farm, Eclipse has maintained a standard of excellence which has earned them a stellar reputation.   Our knowledgeable, dedicated staff, ensure your horse receives the best care available. Your horse will return relaxed, strong, and ready to perform.  Located in beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, Eclipse offers the perfect environment for training, breeding  as well as recovery.    Our 120 acre facility offers grass turnouts, sand pens, 1/2 mile training track designed and maintained by Steve Wood as  well as a starting gate.

MEET OUR PEOPLE

Mike & Angie Scully

 

Mike Scully is a 3rd generation horseman.  Both his father and grandfather trained Thoroughbreds for racing and steeplechase in Ireland. Mike began his career training young Arabian showhorses in Scottsdale, Arizona.   He has trained several National Champions.   He is dedicated to giving young horses a solid foundation and preparing them for their career(s).

 Angie Hager-Scully has a BS in Health Science from University of North Florida.  She’s worked as an athletic trainer most of her life and enjoys riding as an amateur jumper rider. Angie is a certified FES and Laser therapy specialist as well as Acupuncture.

Eclipses’ protocols have been presented at the FAEP symposium on Equine Rehabilitation and they have a strong group of collaborative colleagues.  Their “whole horse” approach to training and therapy gives the horse a strong foundation to prepare them for their career (s) throughout their life.

Juan Manuel Camargo, Foreman

Manuel brings many years of experience to the Eclipse team.    He has worked for some top trainers at Santa Anita.    His compassionate approach to horses as well as meticulous attention to detail shows in the horses he care for. 

ENRIQUE MINCHACA, BREEDING MANAGER

Enrique has over 30 years of experience managing breeding operations.  He is an accomplished horseman and has worked with several top veterinarians including Alamo Pintado and Santa Lucia Farms.

European Trained riders

Eclipse hires top European riders to prepare young horses for a lifetime.   We begin in long lines, transition to the arena, where they are taught to use themselves efficiently as well as create a balanced horse.  We continue the arena work while working on our 1/2 mile training track.  We train them to walk through and stand in our starting gate.

Miguel Lupiano, Yearling Manager

Miguel is a lifelong horseman with several years of experience.  His gift in working with young horses and gaining their trust as well as teaching them how to be good citizens.  He has taught several horsemanship clinics to people all over the world.
